Larry A. Thorne Memorial Chapter XXXIII
The Chapter 33 Summer Meeting was held in conjunction with the annual SFGA Convention and since we checked out
of the motel on Saturday morning I didn't get to make it. Hope it went great and if anyone (Matt, Bob, Mitch)
has any photos of that meeting that they would like to share with everyone else send them to me and I'll insert
them somewhere on this page. For now, you're going to have to make do with the pictures I took. I bought a new
camera and so if some of the pictures are not up to the professional class they should be---grin and bear it.
This convention was celebrating the
50th Anniversary of Special Forces and honoring
Colonel Aaron Banks, considered the Father of Special Forces. Yes,fellow members, 50 years ago this week, Colonel
Banks convinced an otherwise skeptical high command that the US Army should have a clandestine and unconventional
warfare capability to use against the growing threat of the Soviet Union. Now ain't we glad the United States
Army did have someone with vision serving in it's ranks.
And now you can
wonder through the display of some really professional looking people!
