Lee left specific instructions as to how he wanted his funeral to proceed. He wanted to be cremated. He did not want any display of military items nor did he wish to have a military presence or honor guard. He wanted his passing to reflect on how he had lived. A simple visitation with his family and church service followed by a gathering for lunch. Then a wake at his home that would befit the passing of an Irishman.
